With over 14 years of experience in the specialist field of medical tattooing, I’ve had the privilege of treating thousands of people from all over the world. I’ve worked with scars, burns, stretch marks, vitiligo, skin grafts, and a wide range of complex skin conditions — and every client has taught me something new.

Now, I’ve developed a range of online and in-person training courses to share everything I’ve learned with students like you. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a PMU artist ready to take the next step, my goal is to give you not just the practical skills — but the confidence, support, and knowledge to build a truly meaningful and successful career in medical tattooing.

I didn’t start The SKARBLEND® Academy just to teach another technique — I created it to open a new door for women who are ready for more.

After 18 years in nursing, 14 years as a medical tattoo artist, and nearly a decade as a university lecturer, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful this work can be — both for clients and for the artists who do it.

I know what it feels like to be overworked, burnt out, and craving something that actually means something — something that lights you up and gives you the flexibility to live life on your own terms. That’s exactly where I was before medical tattooing changed my life.

Over the years, I’ve treated thousands of scars and built techniques that work — even on complex skin. I’ve also worked with solicitors as an expert witness in this industry, which has made me passionate about not just teaching how to tattoo, but how to run a safe, ethical, and thriving business.

Online and In-person courses & mentorship to help you become the best medical tattooist you can be.

Shadow Days

During the shadow days, you can watch me through full consultations, patient & scar assessment, colour matching, trolley set up, needle selection, treatments and giving aftercare advice. You can ask me questions as I go through my treatments and I will be completely free with any knowledge, hints and tips that I have gained since 1996, through my nursing career, PMU and medical tattooing career, working with patients, their skin, their scars and through all my art and design teaching experience.


Mentorship Days

During the mentorship days, you can shadow me and watch me work. Then you can perform the treatments and I will observe, guide you and give you laser focussed advice to enhance your technique and practical skills and knowledge.

These are very personal days, with just you, me and my clients. You can also bring one of your own clients with you so we can treat them together, if you are unsure about how to manage their treatment plan.

Alternatively, we can use the day to solve any technical or treatment problems you are struggling with, practice colour mixing and matching, learn more about scars and the best way to deal with them to get ink to stay in the scar tissue. These days are entirely bespoke and for you to ask me questions and show you my techniques, so you leave me feeling ready to start again and with far more confidence.

Masterclasses

There are several options for daily Masterclasses

  1. Full Theory Day for colour theory & mixing colour practice, tattooing techniques for Scar Camouflage and Medical Needling
  2. Full Model Practical Day for Scar Camouflage
  3. Toenail Replacement Tattooing- Theory & Practical Masterclass Day


Zoom or WhatsApp Videocall Mentorship Support
If you would like to ask me questions about how you can improve your techniques or your treatment results, or would like to show me your technique for feedback, then a live Zoom meeting will be perfect for you.

We can schedule an hour or 2 hours to cover as many questions as you may have. You have access to my 12 years of PMU and medical tattooing knowledge, experimentation & experience!

Together, we can decide if you would benefit from a follow up meeting or a programme of regular meetings, so I can assess your progress and give you continuous feedback until you feel more confident.

I’ve lived with a colourless scar on my nose for 12 years and yesterday I saw the talented and wonderfully kind Jo.
I’ve had the first treatment to tattoo colour to the scar and today I’ve been out without full makeup for the first time in those 12 years. It’s been quite emotional and I’m so pleased to have found her.
I’d recommend her to anyone needing medical tattoos.

I had my first micro-needling session with Jo on Monday to help soften and improve the appearance of some tightly knitted scars from a cancer diagnosis. While this is something that won't change over night Jo gives you the best advice on aftercare to get the most out of your treatment. Jo was amazing and very professional. She explained everything during my consultation and whilst carrying out the procedure, and made sure I was okay throughout. She is a lovely, caring person who is so passionate about her work and helping to change people's lives, looking forward to my next session. Highly recommend this lovely lady!
